Still Life: Arrangement and composition practice at home

This was my third attempt of still-life drawing at home. It took me approximately 25 minutes to draw it.The composition is asymmetric. Soft things were expressed like: winter hat, scarf and one hard item, orange. There are no orphaned items because everything is placed in one location. Drawing was done on really small amount of artificial light thats why drawing looks almost like it was done on natural light but the shadow on the hats bottom side and on the orange indicate that there was artifical light because from the lines around the main objects we can asume it was placed in the coner next to a wall. Scarf has a messy shape making it interesting. There is an implied line that starts at the bottom of the scaf, then following the darker line goes to the orange, from it it again following darker line it goes to the hat and goes to it‘s top were it ends.

Still life: 2D shape and 3D form

This is a drawing which was done using charcoal. It took me about five minutes to draw it. It‘s composition was done by filling the background what is called negative space. The shapes stay untouched. Siluet of the sprayer is orphaned as for the other two object look together but they aren‘t because the cylinder is futher away from the first object they just look together because objects don‘t have shadows that would tell that there is a space between them.
Second  drawing was done using graphite pencil. The horizontal and vertical lines in every object create form and the depth of the objects. It gives as three dimensional view. The objects  look as they are floating because there was no basis like a table drawn underneath the figures. Bottle is cut in half because of poor planning. It‘s also orphaned because it is separeted from the other same goes for the cup that also looks orphaned. There is some sort of siluet of a skull. Vase and the skull almost imply that they are kissing but skull doesn‘t look finished and it doesn‘t apper to end at start of vase so it isn‘t kissing.

Still Life: Arrangement and composition practice at home

This was my first attempt of still-life drawing at home. I did it using charcoal.
It‘s simple, all figures all arranged in the middle. Clustered next to eatch other so that none of them look orphaned. The table and the wall lines underline that the drawing has central composition. All of the drawing action is in the corner.
I‘m not very happy about the rectangle shapes because I failed to measure them correctly that resulted in the top rectangle having blured lines next to it and bottom rectangle looking out of shape
The dark lines around the figures and deep shadows  give this drawing a three dimensional effect. Light was coming from the top left side which resulted in the right side of the objects having more dark tones.

It is another attempt of still-life drawing that I did in home using charcoal.
It looks similar to the first one. In the drawing you can see 5 diffent shapes that are clustured next to eatch other.
It has a camfortable arrangement because all the objects are in the center of the drawing almost create an implied line that starts from the cylinder, then goes to cup, from it to the orange and ends at the dark corner on the right bottom side of the rectangle.

The perspective of the drawing shows great contrast were the light hits the figures on the left side and were as on the right side it doesn‘t. This gives objects darker tonal value on the right side than on the left.

Still life:Arrangements and composition theme

1
It’s  a still-life drawing that consists of a table and mysterious figure that is hidden underneath drapery and geometrical shapes on top of it. It took me about 15-20min to finish it.  Charcoal were used to create this drawing. I think this was a successful drawing even though it was my first time using charcoal. The follding arrangement of the drapery give this drawing individuality and curiosity. The really dark lines make the drawing look more dimensional. This drawing has more of a central composition. It looks darker than the second drawing because there was a direct light source that made shadow fall to the side that it was drawn from.

2
It’s second drawing with charcoal of still-life.
I didn't plan it properly therefore the bottom part of the drapery doesn't fully fit and the side of it doesn’t look finished.
There is a blured line next to the cone that is consequence of a failed attempt to draw the cone from the first time.
It looks lighter then the first drawing because it was drawn under natural light which is the reason why the middle of the drawing has many dark tones and the left bottom side has a little.
All objects are arranged in a way that none of them are kissing or look orphaned.
